Alina Beverly Yinger Manuel of Bluffton, South Carolina died April 12, 2025.
She was born Alina Vladimirovna Tonkonog on July 23, 1998 in Kremenchuk, Ukraine. She previously lived in Moscow, Russia and Summerville, South Carolina before being adopted on July 14, 2008 by her forever parents Vernon "Tripp" Charles Manuel, III and Ansley Hester Manuel of Bluffton, South Carolina.
Alina attended Knightsville Elementary School, Michael C. Riley Elementary School, Bluffton Middle School, Cross Schools, Hilton Head Christian Academy and Bluffton High School. She was baptized and confirmed by The Church of the Cross. Her church and each of these schools played a special role in welcoming her and being a part of her academic and spiritual development.
After graduating from high school, she lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado for two years before returning to Bluffton to help her family after her father's cancer diagnosis.
Alina is predeceased by her father Tripp and her birth parents Oskana Tonkonog and Alexander Trofimenko. She is survived by her mother Ansley; her maternal grandparents Robert and Jane Hester of Bluffton, South Carolina and her paternal grandmother Karen Manuel of Easton, Maryland; her sister Christiana Gajko of Germany; her uncles Robert "Bob" Hester, Jr (Brooke) of Boone, North Carolina, Jason Manuel (Lisa) of Towson, Maryland, and Theodore "Bo" Manuel (Meg) of Charleston, South Carolina; her aunts Catherine "Bay" Stemp (Brian) of University Park, Washington, Carrie Manuel of Cambridge, Maryland, Natalia Rogova of Ukraine and Anna Tonkonog of Czech Republic.
Alina traveled this country from shore to shore. She found pleasure in the company of her friends. Alina delighted in shopping, especially for clothes, makeup and jewelry. Though her time on Earth was short, she blessed her family, friends and many pets. She will forever be in our hearts.
