Allan Richard Barrett
Age 67, of East McKeesport, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Allan was the beloved husband of 19 years to Cheryl Lyn Barrett; loving father of Christopher Allan Barrett, Nathan Gentry Barrett, Jennifer (Ronald) DiMaria, Christine (David) Meyers, and Stephan (Emyr-al) Meyers; dear grandfather to Savannah Bartlett, Tess (Robert) Ansell, Dy-ana, Arie-ana, Ellie-ana, Talen, and Gracie-ana Meyers; cherished brother of Brenda Fay Hollenbeck; he is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eldon Gentry Barrett and Dorothy Evelin Barrett. Allan was a member of First Baptist Church of Monroeville for over 10 years. He loved participating in all church activities, including the diaper distribution every month. Allan was employed at Steel Dynamics as a computer programmer. His face would light up when speaking about his work there, and it was said he would work there til the day he died. Allan went to lunch almost every day with his colleagues and made lifelong friends through them. He had started lessons at the shooting range in his free time. Allan had a gentle soul and made it a point to be there for you at the drop of a hat. He was a kind heart who will be missed by all who knew him. Arrangements entrusted to JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon's International at www.gideons.org. Please add or view tributes at www.jobefuneralhome.com.
