Allan Rex Sharpless, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, October 20, surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1942 in Kenton, Ohio, Allan graduated from Theodore High School in Alabama in 1960 before proudly serving in the United States Army. While in the Army, he earned the National Defense Service Medal as well as a Good Conduct Medal. He later worked for Xerox and Caltrider International Mailing.
A man of great humor and warmth, Allan touched the lives of many through his love of people and passion for soccer. In the early 1970s, he was instrumental in promoting Pickerington Youth Soccer and dedicated countless hours as "The Voice of the Tigers" for both boys' and girls' soccer until the 1990s.
Allan's faith was evident in his years of service at Peace United Methodist Church. He often expressed his gratitude for the blessed life he lived, sharing his joy with all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Regina, and their children: Tracy (Cheryl), Kelly (Jim), and Jason. Allan also leaves behind his four cherished grandchildren: Mason, Kaylee, Keegan, and Colton Duncan (Maggie). He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Marie Sharpless, but is survived by his two brothers Lee (Esther) Sharpless and Kim (Debbie) Sharpless.
Allan will be remembered for his warmth and compassion for all; he leaves behind a legacy of love for all who knew him.
