Allan Vance Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Johnson-Fosbrink Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A. from Feb. 9 to Feb. 18, 2026.
Allan Richard Vance, the son of Charles Edward Vance Junior and Shirley Ann Vance (nee Jones) died in his sleep on the evening of Saturday, February 7th. Allan was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 9th, 1959 and graduated from Parkville High School, class of '77. he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Washington Bible College and attained his Master of Divinity and PhD at Columbia International University. he spent three decades working as a pastor, primarily at North Plainfield Baptist Church of North Plainfield, NJ, Calvary Tabernacle of Baltimore, MD, and Cassels Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Manchester, PA. After retiring from the ministry, Allan worked variously as adjunct faculty and as a doctoral advisor at Capital Bible Seminary, Lancaster Bible College, and Columbia International University.

Allan resided in Chapin since 2019, formerly having lived in Parkville, Maryland and North Plainfield, New Jersey. He married and is survived by his high school sweetheart and faithful wife of 45 years, Kerry Lee Vance (Nee King); his dear older brother, Charles Edward "Eddie" Vance III; and his beloved progeny: son, Daniel Vance and his wife Laura, and daughter, Sarah Vance. He is also survived by six adored grandchildren, Elijah (17), Nathaniel (15), Micah (13), Isaiah (13), Ryder (12), and Anna Lee (11) - upon whom he doted.

To turn the cliche on its head, to know him was to be loved by him. Allan had many in-laws, nephews, cousins, friends, congregants, neighbors, colleagues, and sisters and brothers in the Lord that he loved deeply and would want named in this obituary. It is sufficient to say that wherever Allan went he left a BIG impression, and the pain we now feel simply represents the outsized role he played in the lies of so many. we grieve, but not as those who have no hope, and we look forward to the day when we will be reunited with him in Christ and our joy made complete.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge (410) 228-2692. https://www.fws.gov/refuge/blackwater/contact-us
