Allan Derwent Wood III, 48 years old of North Andover MA, died peacefully May 3, 2025, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston surrounded by his loving family.
Allan was born in Dover NH on January 18,1977 to Janice E. Wood (Dupont) and Allan D. Wood Jr. He was raised in Portsmouth where he attended Lady Isle and St. Patrick schools. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover and went to college at Syracuse University in NY.
He spent his career in IT sales working for Oracle and Microsoft, where he excelled and was recognized with numerous awards. At Microsoft he created the "Allan Wood Project," a highly successful sales program.
Allan loved snowboarding and playing tennis. He was a history and movie buff, and a master of trivia. He was creative, funny, and generous. He loved giving more than receiving, but he could never keep a secret, and you always knew what your gift was before you unwrapped it.
Allan was a loving son to Janice, and adoring father to his beloved Ari. Ari was everything to Allan, and he encouraged all his interests including Ari's love of cars, airplanes and plane spotting. He recently gifted Ari his first ever flight lessons. Allan and Ari loved spending time together just talking, watching movies, or vacationing in their family home in Florida.
Allan had the ability to connect with people from all walks of life, whether mentoring colleagues, or offering unwavering support to his friends and family. He loved life and he was the pride and joy of his mother. He was deeply committed to his family and cherished the relationships he built throughout his life.
Allan was proud of his Lebanese heritage, and he loved and was close to his Lebanese Grandmother, Madeleine. He loved Saint George Maronite Catholic Church in Dover, where he had been an altar boy, and where his Lebanese great grandparents had been founders in the 1950's.
Allan was predeceased by his father Allan D. Wood Jr., his paternal grandparents Freda (Mazonni) and Allan (Scottie) Wood, his maternal grandparents Madeleine (Colell) and Edward C. Dupont, and his Uncle Edward C. Dupont Jr.
Allan leaves behind his wife Rachael, his beloved son Ari, his mother Janice Wood, his Uncle David Dupont (Carolyn) his Aunt Kathleen Routhier (Richard) and his Aunt Andrea Dupont (Edward) his cousins, James and Peter Routhier who Allan called his "brothers", his Godson Sam Routhier, Christopher, Michael and Ryan Dupont and Lindsey and Ashley Dupont. Also, his in-laws, Dr. Mark Haselkorn, Lesley Eckman, Scott, Adam, Megan, and Erin Haselkorn, Dena and David Melnick and his eight nieces and nephews.
Allan's care has been entrusted to Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home & Crematory in Newmarket NH. A Mass and Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 am on July 8th at Saint George Maronite Catholic Church in Dover, NH followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Dover.
The family kindly ask that any donations in Allan's memory be made to Saint George Maronite Catholic Church, 15 Chapel Street, Dover, NH 03820.
