Allen Felix Galvan, (68), of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, surrounded by loved ones in prayer. Born in Pilsen on March 19, 1957, Allen was a Security Analyst, specifically Information Security and Risk Management, who could learn how to do anything by just reading a book. He was a loving son to Teresa (living) and Manuel (deceased), devoted brother to Cindy (partner Agnes), Dave (spouse Helen), Rosemary (spouse Clint), Arthur (spouse Ruth), Carl (spouse Nicole) and Patty (spouse Jason), and a cherished uncle to Jonathan (spouse Amber), Dave, Jr., Vince, Joey (spouse Claudia), Ashley (spouse Dave), Nikki (spouse Erik), Alex, Maddy (spouse Devon), Mila, Nate, Tommy and Matthew, great-uncle to Kyle, Lyndsey, Aiden, Wesley and Faith and friend to many.
Al was known for his passion for riding his bike and learning the art of debate. Al will be remembered for his infectious laugh, love of music and poetry and creation of his famous Spanish omelet. Al was very intelligent and logical and stood up for what he believed in.
When Al was young, he was paperboy and loved reading a collection of books and playing with his miniature soldiers. He went to St. Adalbert's grammar school and was taught by the Sisters of Nazareth and graduated high school from St. Ignatius College Prep. He graduated from the University of Illinois in Chicago, Illinois with a B.S. in Computer Science.
One of his last words when his nephew asked: "If you had a loud speaker and could tell the world one thing, what would it be?" Al responded: "To love more."
His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Matz Funeral Chapel, 410 E. Rand Road, Mount Prospect, Illinois on June 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a mass at 1pm at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Wheeling, Illinois.
