BRITTON – Allen L. Gray, age 78, of Britton and formerly Clinton, passed away at Lynwood Manor in Adrian on Sunday, August 17, 2025. He was born in Ann Arbor on January 14, 1947, to the late Ivan T. and Betty J. (Nickell) Gray. Allen graduated from Dundee High School and then attained an Associate Degree from Washtenaw Community College. He was extremely proud of his service to our country in the United States Navy during Vietnam.
Allen was a dedicated worker for Sarns 3M for over 20 years as a mechanical engineer. In his free time, he enjoyed just being outdoors and attending to his garden. He also loved taking long drives on the backroads. Music also played an important role in his life. He enjoyed playing his guitar and banjo, especially when he could play with his brother-in-law, Pete.
Allen is survived by his children, Shane (Chastity) Gray, Brian (Tammy) Gray, Kerrie (Adam) Irish, and Cassa Gray; eight grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Donna) Gray; and sisters, Iva "Sis" (Carl "Bub") Krueger and Eva (Peter) Noveskey. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Weston Stoddard; and brothers, David, William, and Daniel Gray.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time.
