Alma Jean DeWees, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 19, 2022 at Franciscan Health of Indianapolis. She was born on February 8, 1943 in Indianapolis to the late James and Lula (Grubbs) Cannon. Jeannie was a self- employed cosmetologist. She enjoyed oil painting, reading, gardening, canning, cooking and mysteries.
Jeannie is survived by her children, Kathy (Bryan) Rayburn of Pendleton, Kevin (Cindy) Suits of Brown County, Michelle (Chad) Cross of Indianapolis, Stacy (Carla Kerulis) Suits of Alameda, California, Jeannie (Isaac Altawil) Suits of Indianapolis, Haley (Gabriel) Gluesenkamp of Nashville, Indiana; Grandchildren, Aleshia Fannin, Mariah Allender, Ashley (Evan) Bennett, Zach (Katlin) Rayburn, Zane (Jubilee) Rayburn, Tyler Suits, Mya Shuff, Chase Cross, Colton Cross, Samia Altawil; eight great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dallas DeWees and a sister, Alice Pittman.
A Private Celebration of Life will be held. Thursday 06/23/2022 at noon in Brown County State Park at the Shelter house near Strahl Lake.
