Alton Crafton Obituary
Alton Richard Crafton was born August 29, 1935 and passed away on September 2, 2025.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Mayme (Oyler) Crafton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years and two days (to a red head), Madge Crafton, sons, Kevin (Judy) and Bill (Beth), four grandchildren, Nathan, Dustin, Mallory (Greg), and Matthew.
He graduated from Eastern High School in 1953 and received his bachelors degree from the University of Louisville. Alton also served in the KY Air National Guard from 1957 to 1963. His employment included The Pillsbury Company, Alcan Aluminum Processing Plant, Lewis Bakery and 14 years with JCPS as a school bus driver. Alton was also an avid outdoorsman, especially fishing.
His visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 12th at Newcomer, East Louisville (235 Juneau Drive) and from 9:00 am to the service time at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 13th at Jeffersontown Christian Church (10631 Taylorsville Road). Private entombment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions in Alton's memory may be made to Jeffersontown Christian Church.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Theresa Thompson for the care and compassion she showed to Alton as his caregiver, and his grandson, Nathan, for shopping and cooking.
