Alva (Al) Schlosser Obituary Alva L. "Al" Schlosser, 93, of Byesville, passed away Tuesday (May 27, 2025) at Cambridge Place.
He was born April 19, 1932 in Cambridge, son of the late John Schlosser and Annabelle (McManaway) Schlosser.
Al was a graduate of Byesville High School and had attended an electronic trade school prior to beginning his career as a self-employed contractor. He was the owner of A.L. Schlosser Construction for many years.
His memberships included Masonic Lodge #654 F. & A.M. of Byesville, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, and the Aladdin Shrine. He was also a member of the Eagles Aerie #386 of Cambridge and a life member of the Cambridge VFW Post 2901.
Al was a US Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He had been stationed in Japan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his six siblings, Robert, John, Don, Harold, Charlie, and Jerry.
Al is survived by his son, Eric (Maggie) Schlosser of Cambridge; his two daughters, Cheryl Logwood of Zanesville and Rhonda (Don) Nolte of Cambridge; a brother, David (Donna) Schlosser of Pleasant City; a sister, Annabelle Olden of Cambridge; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held Friday (May 30, 2025) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Chaplain Kris Bright officiating.
Burial will be at Buffalo Cemetery, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
