She was born May 31, 1935 in Barnesville, daughter of the late David Levi Phillips and Mary Jane (Bunting) Phillips.
A 1952 graduate of Barnesville High School, Helen worked at the A&P Store in Cambridge for ten years. Then, in 1961 she and her husband, John, bought the Cozy Corner in Cambridge and operated it until 2004.
Helen was a member of Chalfants Chapel Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher.
Helen was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoying sewing and helping others.
She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the VFW.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Schlosser, who passed away August 23, 2015. They were married May 1, 1954. Also deceased are her siblings: Ed, Ralph, Kenny, Dempsey, David, James, Hubert, Mildred Phillips, Nellie Shepherd, Geneva Shivers, and Sarah Madeline Shivers.
Helen is survived by her son, Rick Schlosser of Plain City; her daughter, Teresa Dudley of Cambridge; her grandson, Adam (Lydia) Dudley of Byesville and their children, Bo and Ty; her grandson, Aaron (Emily) Dudley of Caldwell and their children, Kaylee, Rylee, and Wyatt; and several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.
Visitation will be held Wednesday (May 14, 2025) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will be held on Thursday (May 15, 2025) at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating.
Burial will be at Buffalo Cemetery.
