Amelia "Milly" Pappas (née Mikes), age 97, resident of Northbrook for 56 year,s peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on August 16, 2025.

Beloved former wife of the late Louis G. Pappas. Loving mother of Elissa Pappas. Treasured daughter of the late Andrew and Georgia Mikes. Dear sister of the late Marina (Louis) Solos and the late Deno Mikes.

She will be deeply missed by her nieces Georgia (Dr. Mark) Ryerson, Patricia (Dean) Scaros, Penny, Deborah, and George Pappas, and remembered with love by her many great-nieces and great-nephews: Christopher (Melanie), Marlee (Scott), Maren (Ben), Michael, Dick, Rob, Don, and the late Christopher. To them, she was always their cherished Theia. She was also a proud great-Theia to Brayden, Blakely, Brooks and Christopher, who brought her much joy.

Milly lived a life rooted in generosity, faith, and service. A devoted member of Saints Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church, she dedicated over 40 years to the Philoptochos Society, including 5 years as President. Her passion for philanthropy and helping those in need was a hallmark of her life.

In her professional career, Milly worked as an administrative assistant at Volkswagen of America for 25 years, where her warmth, diligence, and dedication touched colleagues and friends alike.

Milly will be remembered for her kindness, faith, and the countless lives she enriched through her love and service.

Visitation Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 10:00AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00AM at Saints Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 1401 Wagner Road, Glenview, IL 60025. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Saints Peter & Paul Philoptochos would be appreciated.
