Amelita "Amy" Prendingue

Amelita (Amy) Cosgayon Prendingue, 67, of Virginia Beach passed away on October 11, 2023 due to unforeseen health complications. Amelita was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Pilar.
Amelita was born on April 26, 1956 to Joseph Cosgayon and Pilar Osmond in Cavite City, Philippines. After graduating high school from La Consolacion School, she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1978 from Santa Isabel College - Manila, Philippines and eventually attained a second Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from Saint Leo College -Norfolk, VA in 1995. Amelita worked Tech Support at Cox Communications and was a member of United Ilocano Association of Tidewater. As a hobby, she was an accomplished cake decorator and loved to cook for friends and family.
Anyone who knew Amelita knew she was one of the most kind and caring individuals you could meet. She was an energetic and passionate soul who was often seen as a "second mom" to many. Amelita's family and friends will miss her more than words can express. She left a lasting impression on all those she met.
She is survived by her husband, Fred, her two sons, John and Richard, her siblings Henry, Edmund, Gerry, Michael, Pilita, Terry, and Lulu, her daughter-in-law, Christine and three grandchildren, Christian, Jordan and Rhiannon.
Wake service will be held from 5pm to 9pm on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel. Funeral Mass will occur Saturday October 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at the same location.
