Andrew F. Boomhower, age 74 from Geneva, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 6, 1950 in Ashtabula, the son of Andrew Frederick and Beverly Jean (Banks) Boomhower. He married Cheryl Maimone on November 8, 1975 in Ravenna.
Andrew graduated from Geneva High School in 1969. He went on to earn a bachelor degree in history from Kent State University in 1975. He began his career in construction, working with his father and brothers for the Boomhower Construction Company. He spent 37 years in construction, building beautiful homes from Geneva to Cleveland. Above all else, Andrew loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved fishing, camping and was always up for watching golf, Jeopardy and the Buckeyes. He never spoke a bad word about anyone except professional golfers. He was well known for his sense of humor, baking skills and strong coffee. He will be dearly missed by his family and those that loved him.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Cheryl; children, Lisa, Karen (husband, Chris), Andy, Michael and Eric; grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas, Liz, Katie, Andrew, and Taylor; brothers, Martin and Jonathan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lois.
Family and friends will be received from 9:00 to 10:30am on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 South Broadway in Geneva. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, February 22nd at Assumption Catholic Church, 30 Lockwood Street in Geneva. Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva.
