Rick L. Kimmy, 72, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at ARMC in Ashtabula, OH, after a long illness. He was born on July 5, 1953, in Geneva, OH, to parents Kenneth R. Kimmy and Emily Bilger Kimmy, and was a graduate of Geneva High School and attended Kansas Community College. Rick served in the Army from May of 1975 to June of 1981 and received many awards before being honorably discharged. Of all the things Rick did in his life, he was most proud to have served his country. On October 15, 1983, Rick married Lynne Y. Labry in Ashtabula, OH, and the two spent the next 41 years together. He joined the USPS in December of 1983 as a letter carrier and then later became a supervisor. In December of 2003, he achieved his lifelong goal of becoming Postmaster of Geneva and received many awards throughout his career. Rick also worked as a volunteer firefighter with Geneva for many years. He was president of the Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow; he enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping with his friends at Kenisee and hunting with his Bubba's in Pennsylvania at his hunting camp, The Blue Goose. No matter the situation, Rick was always there to lend a hand to anyone that needed help. He is survived by his wife, Lynne; his little bubba, Hank (his maltese); niece, Kimberly Buskirk; nephews, Brandon (Shannon) Sayles, Paul (Lauren) Kimmy and Mark Kimmy; several great nieces and nephews that he loved dearly; and a brother, Mark (Tina) Kimmy. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth R. and Emily C. Kimmy; great great-nephew, Mason Tapia; and his sister, Kathleen Bowler. Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 3:00pm to 5:30pm with a Funeral Service beginning at 5:30pm-6:00pm at Lake Erie Cremation & Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Rd, Geneva, OH 44041. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations can be made in his name to the Ashtabula APL (ACAPL), 5970 Green Rd., Ashtabula, OH., 44004. The family would like to thank the staff of Davita Dialysis, Tricia Williams, and Dr. Mhanna for all of their care and compassion. Lake Erie Cremation & Funeral Services assisted the family with arrangements. (440) 361-2273. www.lakeeriecrematory.com.

We shared many years of memories over the last few decades, some happy, some not so happy. You always knew how to lift my spirits when I wanted to give up, were always willing to help me out at camp when I needed it, and I always knew I had you in my corner. You, my dear cousin, will be deeply missed by many who were lucky to know you. May you rest in eternal peace with no more pain and suffering. Until we meet again...

Much love, Tami
