Dick was the son of the late Otis and Marie (Leehan) Kimmy. He was born on April 6, 1949, in Erie.
He graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1967 and enlisted in the United States Air Force following high school. After his honorable discharge in 1972, Dick began working in the construction field. Throughout his career, he held numerous jobs in the field and worked until he was unable to do so. Dick was a true craftsman who could fix almost anything, but he especially loved woodworking. He also adored nature and loved to hunt.
Dick leaves behind his loving daughter, Megan Dougan (Brian); sons, Seth and Joshua Kimmy Sr.; sister, Janet Lyngarkos; brother, Eric Kimmy; grandchildren, Joshua Kimmy Jr., Emma and Liam Kimmy, Graham, Rory, and Finn Dougan, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services are to be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials or donations in Dick's name may be made to the Richard Kimmy Memorial Fund c/o Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main Street E, Girard, PA 16417.

One of my best friends in time, taught me so much at work, to so much in time... We had so many talks to memories.. I'll always miss a great friend.. May he rest in peace..

Just found out you passed. So heart breaking. You were so full of life and always looked to see the best in everything, no matter what the situation was. What I'll miss most is our long talks at the Rainbow. You were always there when I needed you most! Thanks for being the best! I'm going to miss you so damn much, MANGO! So sorry to hear of Dick's passing. we were in the Air Force together and were best friends back then. We met in Texas in Training School then would be stationed at Pope AFB in NC and Naha AB in Okinawa together. Haven't seen him since but thought of him often. May he " Rest In Peace". I called him XR because we were flying together once and he had to sign a report and there was an X where he was to sign, So then someone asked who is this XR? That stuck with him for the rest of our time together.
