Andrew Theodore Bunce, 61, of Edmond, passed away unexpectedly on August 11, 2025. A devoted husband, father, brother, friend, and business coach, Andrew was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be profoundly missed.
Born on December 1, 1963, Andrew was a proud graduate of Virginia Tech, where he earned his MBA and remained a lifelong Hokie. His passion for mentorship, coaching, and leadership led him to a fulfilling career where he inspired countless individuals with his wisdom, integrity, and encouragement.
Andrew was married to the love of his life, Melissa Sweeney Bunce, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of love, partnership, and family. He adored his children, Katelyn M. Bunce, Alana M. Sweeney, and Drew T. Bunce, and strived every day to be the best father he could be. His love for them was boundless and unwavering.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Charles M. and June C. Bunce, whose values and spirit he carried forward in his own life. He is survived by his beloved wife Melissa, his cherished children, Katelyn, Alana, and Drew, and his sister, Julie Detjen (Scott), along with many extended family members, friends, and colleagues who were touched by his kindness and generosity.
Andrew’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and quiet strength. His presence lit up every room, and his memory will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, located at 14624 N. May Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73134.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Autism Speaks in memory of Andy – a cause close to his heart.
