Beloved spouse and mother Angela Carmiela Hasebe passed away on September 28, 2023, in her home in
New Smyrna Beach, FL. Angela was diagnosed with advanced stage cancer on December 28, 2022, and battled with strength, grace and peace.
Born on April 29, 1975, in Melbourne Fl., Angela graduated with a Bachelors of Aero and Astro Engineering Degree from Purdue University in Indiana. Angela met her future husband in her sophomore year. She decided to date him after dumping him on week two; they were soon engaged. They were inseparable, even during class, ever since then. Angela moved to Maryland after her graduation, and started supporting NASA Goddard as a federal contractor.
While she was a successful aerospace engineer, her faith fueled her life. Angela's focus was always in helping others in Jesus' name; and she did so in every opportunity. She would travel to orphanages when she had enough time off, prepare lunches at Salvation Army kitchens, deliver meals to the elderly with her children, support young mothers in crisis pregnancies through Gabriel Project, and volunteer at the Children's Inn at National Institutes of Health (NIH) to spend time with children in their time of need. She would always carry a "goody bag" in case she met someone in need. She also enjoyed adventures - from bungee jumping, going to rock concerts, jet skiing and climbing the mountains.
Angela will be remembered as a beautiful, devoted mother who made the decision to transition from her successful career as an aerospace engineer to become a passionate home educator for their children. Her unwavering commitment to their education and well-being was truly inspiring. Angela would always go to classes with her children, research the curriculums and programs that best suited each of the children and never missed a practice, recital or performance. She would always try to go the extra mile in making education "fun", and had said that home education was so much more challenging than any of her aerospace projects.
Angela's legacy as a caring mother and her dedication to providing a nurturing homeschool environment will forever be cherished.
Angela was preceded in death by her mother Banjong and her sister Amanda.
Angela leaves behind her husband Sergio, her five children - Astera, Caleb, Elijah, Ezekiel and Isaac, her sisters Christina and Monica, and brother Lukas, her father Burtis and step-mother Rachel, step-brothers Edmunds Vajevskis, Daniel Vajevskis and Thatchapol Pothibamreung.
A celebration of life service will be held at Alive Church located at 401 N Williamson Blvd. Daytona Beach, Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 6 to 7:30, followed by a light reception. All her friends and family are welcome to attend.
