Roanoke Rapids, North CarolinaEvangelist Angela Faye Turner, 69, of
Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Irene Turner and Lawrence Gee, Jr., made her earthly debut on March 20, 1956, in Weldon, North Carolina.
On October 6, 2025, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family, she peacefully answered her final call at home in
Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, stepping from labor to reward and into the eternal arms of her Savior, whom she served faithfully all her days.
Angela grew up in Weldon, North Carolina, and was educated in the Weldon City Schools, graduating from Ralph J. Bunch High School in 1974. She later continued her studies at ITT Technical Institute in Raleigh, North Carolina, and earned her CNA Certification, beginning a lifelong calling in the field of healthcare. Her career began at Guardian Care of Roanoke Rapids reflected not only her strong work ethic but also her heart, compassionate, kind, and deeply nurturing spirit. She was more than an employee, she was a caregiver, counselor, and comforter. She treated her patients like family, often bringing them laughter, encouragement, and prayer. Caring for others was never just her job or work; it was her ministry. Her dedication to caring for others extended far beyond her profession, it was the essence of who she was. Later, Angela began working for Rural Health Group, where she faithfully served for over fifteen years. During her time there, she was known for her warm spirit, professionalism, and deep compassion for every patient she encountered. Her ability to connect with people went far beyond the front desk but she made each person feel seen, valued, and cared for. Angela later continued her career as a Patient Services Representative at Rural Health, where she remained a steady presence of excellence, empathy, and dedication until her retirement in August 2018.
Angela's life was marked by her faith in God, her boldness, and her deep love for people. She was a true vessel of honor who believed in the power of prayer. Everywhere she went, she carried the presence of God and left behind a lasting impact on those she encountered. She loved deeply, gave selflessly, and served tirelessly. She was the kind of woman who would sacrifice her own comfort to ensure others were taken care of, whether it was her children, grandchildren, neighbors, church family, or even strangers who simply crossed her path. Her walk with Christ began in her early years. In January 2008, Angela became a devoted member of The Evangelistic Church of Deliverance in Weldon, North Carolina under the leadership of the late Bishop William H. Cheek, Sr., where she served faithfully until her illness. Later, she served as a respected member of the Advisory Council of The House of Mandate, Inc. in
Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, where her wisdom, strength, and keen insight were deeply valued. Angela was bold in spirit, fearless in prayer, and gentle in love. Her life was a testimony of endurance through trial, faith through adversity, and grace through pain. Angela was a prayer warrior who would pray you through your storm while walking through one of her own. She taught her family to believe God no matter what, to live right, love hard, and finish strong. She reminded them that faith isn't proven in comfort but in endurance, that storms reveal who you truly trust. She taught them to pray when they didn't have answers, to worship when life hurt the most, and to forgive even when forgiveness felt impossible.
Angela leaves to cherish her memory with her beloved children whom she dedicated her life to and adored: Derrick Turner (Jakia) of Wake Forest, NC, Dr. Chemeka Williams of Graham, NC, Angela Denise Taylor (Toby) of Greenville, NC, Tishena Turner of Garysburg, NC and Trevor Turner (Monique) of Greenville, NC; her siblings: Patricia Dianne Turner and Vera Lowe of Garysburg, NC, Pam Ivey of Raleigh, NC and Larry Wilson Turner of Gastonia, NC. She also shared a special lifelong bond with her sister-in love, who was more like her sister: Yvonne Long Gee, who stood by her side as a true sister in heart and spirit.
Angela is now rejoined in heaven with her parents: Irene Turner and Lawrence Gee Jr.; paternal grandparents: Lawrence Gee, Sr. and Geneva Bell Gee; maternal grandparents: Addie P. Turner and Johnny Turner; brothers: Clarence Davis Gee and Lawrence Gee III; and two sisters: Janice Shearin Bennett and Kim Motley; two grandchildren: Jaquez Santjuan Turner and Jahavi Williams. She is also reunited with her two best friends and sisters at heart: Mrs. Mattie Lee Rawls and Ms. Catherine Shearin; and a host of beautiful aunts and uncles who loved her dearly. May you all rest in peace and have a blessed reunion in the Lord!
Her legacy also continues through her treasured grandchildren, they will forever remember her laughter, her cooking, her truth, and her prayer: Tatiyanna Williams, Shaleik Williams, Naseyah Williams, Nacyiah Williams, Trevor Turner, Jr., Savannah Turner, Jmorin Turner, Kimarje Johnson, Jaylen Bynum, Cameron Turner, Noremac Turner, Avery Williams, Shiyanna Richardson, Marquel Richardson, Jr., Aiden Richardson, Judah Richardson, Serenity Champion, Osheana Turner, Grayson Turner, Kenya Turner, Nyasia Taylor, Phanysha Taylor, and Drevaion Taylor; four great-grandchildren: Artist Williams, Cire-Kendall Taylor, Legacy Taylor and Sevyn Taylor.
Angela was more than a mother and grandmother, she was a pillar to many, a lifeline to others and a prayer warrior. Her strength, faith, and love were the heartbeat of her family. She modeled perseverance in pain, grace in every trial. To know her was to experience love in action and a heart to care for those in need. Angela's presence commanded any room she entered. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in every prayer she prayed, every soul she touched, every life she impacted and the loved ones she left behind.
Her legacy will forever echo through generations, a reminder that a life surrendered to God leaves behind eternal fruit.
