Obituary for Angeline Aguila Beach
Angeline Aguila Aguinaldo Beach ("Angie") was born on April 9, 1942, in Capiz, Philippines. She was the only child of Josefa Aguinaldo Hoekstra and Miguel Aguinaldo. Her family had to evacuate the hospital shortly after her birth because the Japanese were bombing the area during World War II. After the War, her family moved to Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, where she spent her childhood years. Angie graduated early from the Philippine Women's University in Manila and came to the United States. She earned a master's degree in computer science from American University in Washington, D.C. She had two children from her first husband, Hubert Leonard, Jr. She married her second husband and helped to raise his five children in their home in McLean, Virginia. Her career included working at the International Monetary Fund and Lockheed Martin. She retired after an illustrious career as the Assistant Director of Information Systems at Lockheed Martin. Angie was an avid mah jongg player with her wonderful group of Filipina friends. She enjoyed monthly lunches with her Lockheed Martin colleagues and almost daily lunches with her Filipina friends, Amparo and Lilia Guerrero, and Wenee Martelino, who were like sisters to her. She traveled in her later years with her daughter, Maria Leonard Olsen, to Romania, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Vietnam and Cambodia. She was excited to take her grandchildren, Caroline Olsen and Christopher Olsen, to see her home country. Angie fiercely loved her family and friends. She was generous and funny, even to her last moments, joking with her family and trying to make them laugh. Her grandson, Christopher, made his Lola (Filipino for grandmother) famous in recent years, by featuring her on his popular TikTok (@Chris) and Instagram (@ChrisOlsen) pages and bringing her on stage last year when he opened for pop star Meghan Trainor at Jiffy Lube Live. Lola was loved online by thousands of people. Angie passed away on June 22, 2025, surrounded by family, after a sudden fall that resulted in serious injury to her neck and spinal cord. She leaves behind her children, Maria Leonard Olsen and Michael Leonard, her stepchildren, Leigh Beach Carey (Sean), Lauri Beach Schmidt, Lynne Beach Wilson (Landon), David Taylor Beach (Angie) and Jeff Beach; her grandchildren, Caroline Olsen, Christopher Olsen, Alissa Carey Wise (Keith), Courtney Carey, Megan Carey Heyler (Adam), Christina Schmidt Medlin (Zach), Samantha Schmidt, Brian Schmidt (Jenna), Ashley Wilson, Christopher Wilson, Renee Beach Rogers (Jason), Andrew Beach (Dominica) and Skyler Beach; and her great-grandchildren, Mia Wise, Miles Medlin, Sloane Jones, Jude Schmidt, Asa Rogers and Nicolas Rogers.
Her memorial service will be held June 28, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm in Potomac, Maryland. Private interment to follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery in
