On Monday May 13, 2024, Angelo Mallozzi, loving son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather (Nonno), great-grandfather (Nonno) and husband passed away peacefully at the age of 93.
Angelo was born on March 11, 1931 in Santa Maria Infanta Minturno, Italy to Giovanni and Virginia Mallozzi. Angelo served in the Italian Army in the early 1950s as a radio operator. In the mid-1950s he arrived in America from Italy and started working at Pantry Pride and Gran Central as a produce manager for many years until he retired to help his wife Carmella take care of their grandchildren. He enjoyed playing Italian cards at the Minturnese Social Club where he was an active member until his death. He will be remembered for his vivacious personality and his daily glass of homemade wine with lunch. Angelo was a big family man and always made sure his children and grandchildren were provided for. After Angelo got sick, his beloved daughters cared compassionately for him until his death.
Angelo was married for 64 years to Carmella Mallozzi (Inzitari) of Stamford; they have two daughters, Virginia Verrastro and Angela Carella (Dave). He is also survived by his four grandchildren Jennifer Mocarski (Prez), Jessica Santos (Alex), Angelo Carella, and David Carella Jr. and two great-grandchildren Andrew Mocarski and Leni Santos. Other survivors include his sister Erminia Mallozzi and sisters-in-law Emily Inzitari and Angie Inzitari, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Carmella and his siblings, Antonio Mallozzi (Elda), Nella Zinicola (Alessandro), Adelina Pensiero (Arnaldo), Maria Diorio (Mario) and In-Laws, Rafaele Mallozzi, Angelina Pinto (Larry). Michael Inzitari (Antoinette), Ralph Inzitari (Gloria), Frank Inzitari (Vincenza), Victor Inzitari, Albert Inzitari and his son-in-law Leonard Verrastro Jr. and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank his nephew Dr. Angelo Mallozzi, the doctors and nurses at Stamford Hospital and the staff of Constellation for taking good care of him.
Family will receive relatives and friends on the morning of May 17, 2024 from 9am - 11am, at the Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, in Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11:30am at St. Leo's Parish, 24 Roxbury Road Stamford, CT. His burial will follow at St. John RC Cemetery, in Darien, CT.
