Anita Joyce Dosser McPike, 83, of Huntsville, Texas, passed away on October 20, 2025, in Huntsville. Anita was born on May 15, 1942, in Rusk to Edgar and Vera (Lusk) Dosser. Anita is preceded in death by her parents; all siblings but one; her husband, James (Red) McPike; son, James McPike, Jr; brother-in-law, Bill McPike; and sister-in-law, Linda McPike. She is survived by her children, William McPike (Jan), Eric McPike (Dania), and Angela Ramirez (Roel). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her brother, Wesley Dosser; sister-in-law, Karen McPike; brother-in-law, Raymond McPike (Juventina); and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Through the years of following Red around while he worked in the oil field, she made an impact on those whose paths she crossed. She was always ready for a good cup of hot coffee rather at her house or yours, & if you needed or wanted something to eat, you could always count on her for a good meal. When Red would get transferred, which was a lot, she would load and roll in a minute – belongings & kids in tow!! She just made it work!!!
She was a resident at MRC Creekside for almost 7 years prior to her passing. The family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks and gratitude for the loving care she was given during her time there and particularly during her final days. The staff were like family and along with the staff at 1st Choice Hospice, the family knew she was being well taken care of & in good hands! Thanks to all who had a lasting impact on her as well as the family! You will never be forgotten!!
Services for Mrs. McPike will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, beginning with visitation at 9:00 a.m., followed by the service at 10:00 a.m. at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville, Texas, with Rev. Ellen Willett officiating. Interment will follow at Boontown Cemetery in Groveton, Texas. Memorial donations may be made to MRC Creekside (https://www.mrcaff.org/giving), or to your favorite charity.
