Alex William McPike, age 36, of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Franciscan Health, Greenwood, surrounded by his loving family and a close friend. Alex was a longtime member of Brownstown Christian Church, where he served on the First Impression Ministry, Discipleship Team, and the Media Department. He had a strong faith and often quoted his favorite Bible verse: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). Alex loved listening to the music of the David Crowder Band, finding inspiration and comfort in their songs. Alex graduated from Brownstown Central High School in 2007 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Supervision from the University of Southern Indiana in 2011. Following his college graduation, he worked as a Quality Engineer in the automotive industry before joining McPike Farms full-time in 2024. Alex had a deep passion for farming and hunting, and he was an avid sports fan, always cheering for the Indiana Hoosiers, Notre Dame football, Indianapolis Colts and Pacers, Cincinnati Reds, and his hometown Brownstown Braves. Alex deeply loved his family, and his most treasured role in life was being an uncle to his nephew and nieces. As an involved and active uncle, he was always playing games, joining in their adventures, and making sure they felt loved. Known for being a friend to many and never meeting a stranger, Alex always had a bright smile, infectious laugh, generous spirit, and caring heart. He was ever ready to lend a helping hand to others and brought warmth and kindness wherever he went. Born on February 19, 1989, in Seymour, Alex was the son of Gregory Dale and Andrea Jean (Roller) McPike, both of whom survive in Medora. Survivors also include one brother, Matthew Ryan McPike of Vallonia; one sister, Kaitlin JoniMari (Conner) Barnette of Brownstown; one nephew and three nieces, whom he adored: Emmett Marcus McPike, Gracie Lynn McPike, Rory Lynn Barnette, and Leisey Pichardo, all of Brownstown; paternal grandmother, Donna McPike of Medora; aunts and uncles: Jeff and Tammy McPike, Dee and James Stewart, Brenda and Richard Schrader, and Glenn Durham; several cousins; and numerous friends. Alex was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Jack Dean and Lois Marie Roller; paternal grandfather, Robert William McPike; one aunt, Jill Ann Durham; two uncles: Andrew Dean Roller and Ronnie Ray Roller; and his best friend, Paul French. Funeral services for Alex William McPike will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Brownstown Christian Church with Pastor Mitchell McIntyre officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Brownstown Christian Church, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the church. Interment will follow at White River Valley Cemetery, Medora. Memorials may be given to Brownstown Christian Church, Residence Encountering Christ (REC), or Donor's choice.
