Craig Evan Darlage, age 63, of Brownstown, passed away peacefully at his home early Friday morning, September 5, 2025, with his loved ones by his side. Craig was a lifelong, dedicated member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown, where he was baptized in Christ on June 17, 1962, and confirmed in his faith on May 2, 1976. Throughout the years, he faithfully held various church offices, including usher and trustee. Craig graduated from Brownstown Central High School in 1980. Following graduation, he began working at Midway Supply and later joined Laborers Local 741, where he remained employed until his retirement. Family was central to Craig's life. He treasured time with his loved ones, and the love he gave was returned to him. His friendships were just as meaningful, and he cherished them like family. He found great joy in cooking for those he loved. Craig also enjoyed antiquing, fishing, hunting, dirt track racing, collecting Pabst Blue Ribbon memorabilia, listening to live music, and playing dartball. A loyal Cincinnati sports fan, he proudly cheered for both the Reds and the Bengals. Born on May 27, 1962, in Seymour, Craig was the son of Harold Richard and Elberta (Wessel) Darlage. His father preceded him in death on August 27, 2012, and his mother survives in Brownstown. On June 18, 1983, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown, he married Holli Day, and she survives in Brownstown. Survivors also include two sons: Trent (Brittany) Darlage of Brownstown, and Tyler (Kaitlin) Darlage of Kentucky; four grandchildren: Madison Darlage, Tyson Darlage, Caleb Sipes, and Zaylee Weissert; one brother, Todd Darlage of Brownstown; one sister, Stacey (Tom) Allman of Brownstown; father-in-law, Bill Day of Brownstown; brother-in-law, Tony (Brenda) Day of Zionsville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; his beloved dog, Rocky; and numerous friends. Craig was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Sandy Day. Funeral services for Craig Darlage will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown, with Pastor Ryan Schneider officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brownstown.
