Ann B. Carroll

3/12/1932 - 8/16/2025

Age 93. Devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. Ann leaves behind her loving daughters, Jamie (Tim) Guilfoil and Joni (David) Browne, grandchildren Tara Guilfoil, Scott Guilfoil, and Brandon (Katie) Browne, and loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives, many living in Virginia. Preceded in death by her devoted husband of 46 years, James E. Carroll, her parents, Garfield and Annie Barden, her siblings Hazel, Catherine (Thurman), Sinclair (Harriet), Bernice (W.M.), Henry, and Maynard.

Born Annie “Annie Jay” Jeremiah Barden, Ann was very proud to be born in the beautiful state of Virginia. She met her husband at a barn dance in Virginia, where he was stationed in the army. When she married Jim in 1957, she moved to the beautiful state of California. Initially living in the Bay Area, they moved to and spent most of their lives in Sacramento. Ann was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Fair Oaks. She enjoyed singing in the church choir for many years. Ann was a stay-at-home mom who loved to volunteer at her daughter’s school and at her church, where she would prepare meals for those in need. After her daughters were grown, Ann enrolled in and graduated from college. Later in life, she volunteered at the WPAC (Widowed Persons Association of California) organization. Ann was always a hard-working, very organized person who gave 100% to all her projects.

One of her hobbies was sewing, and she was an excellent seamstress. For many years, she maintained a beautiful rose garden. She loved music, dancing, and traveling. She always looked forward to traveling back to Virginia as often as possible to visit her many loved ones. We will miss her beautiful brown eyes and lovely smile, but we know she is in heaven with Jesus and her loved ones.
