ABBEVILLE...Ann O'Connor Wamble, a resident of Abbeville, died late Monday morning, June 3, 2024, in a Dothan hospital. She was 79.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Darden Kirby officiating. Interment will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Twin Magnolias Assisted Living, 3084 U. S. Highway 431, South, Abbeville, AL 36310.
Ann Wamble was born and reared in Marianna, Florida, daughter of the late James William O'Connor and Verna Mae Rogers O'Connor. She was a graduate of Chipola Jr. College in Marianna. Ann lived in Abbeville most of her adult lifetime. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Abbeville. Ann was retired from Great Southern Wood Preserving Company in Accounting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Wamble.
Surviving relatives include a son, Gary Dewayne Wamble (Nancy), Abbeville; sisters, Janice McFatter (Herbert), Panama City; Bobbie Gamble (Bob), Marianna, FL; and Margaret Daniels, Macon, GA; a brother, Bill O'Connor (Mary), Ruidoso, New Mexico; grandchildren, Dewayne Wamble and Leslie Wamble; three great-grandchildren; special friends, Bobbie Tye and Judy Saunders.
