Patricia Jeanette Wamble (née Hockle) passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024, at the age of 91, surrounded by her five loving children. She was preceded in death by her parents, two of her three sisters, son-in-law, Stan Hargett, and her beloved husband, James Edward Wamble, Sr. Pat will be remembered by her family and friends for her abiding faith, dedication to her family and community, as well as her tenacious personality, infallible honesty, and sharp sense of humor.
Pat was born on February 27, 1933, in Jonesboro, AR to Joseph and Minnie Hockle. She attended Mt. Scholastica College for Girls and Arkansas State University. Pat and her husband of 47 years, Jim, lived and raised their five children in Columbus, MS, where they were active members of Annunciation Catholic Church. Pat and Jim co-founded Industrial Specialty Company, an industrial supply business that expanded into multiple branches throughout Mississippi and flourished with the help of her children. The couple possessed an entrepreneurial spirit and started an array of businesses ranging from yogurt shops to a plating company.
Pat spent her free time traveling, golfing, volunteering, and attending her children and grandchildrens' various events and activities. She served as president of the Junior Auxiliary of Columbus, the Villas on the Green Homeowners Association, and the Columbus Country Club Ladies Golf Association. She was a Girl Scout troop leader and served as president of and in various offices of the St. Mary's School Parent Association. She was a member of the Lady's Altar Guild of Annunciation Catholic Church, the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, and the Milady Garden Club. Pat also enjoyed cooking, playing bridge with her friends, dancing, swimming, and traveling the world with Jim. She enjoyed staying busy to say the least.
She is survived by her 5 children: James Wamble Jr. (Cindy); Russell Wamble (Liz); Stacy Hargett; Mary Leary (Scott); Michael Wamble (Lisa) and her sister Dorothy Koubeck. She is also survived by her 19 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren and one great, great grandson, as well as countless other family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Annunciation Catholic Church in Columbus with visitation at 10:00 AM and Mass at 11:00 AM.
