Ann Marie Wright, 85, of Fairfield, loving wife of Richard S. Wright for 62 years, died on May 11, 2025, at Norwalk Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Ann was born on September 29, 1939, in Bridgeport Connecticut, the daughter of the late Walter and Agnes (Keenan) Shanley. She was also predeceased by her brother, Dr. Walter Shanley.
Ann was a teacher in the Bridgeport school system for over 30 years and loved the many years as a kindergarten teacher and a reading specialist with the Bridgeport Board of Education. Ann received her degree in Primary Education from Southern Connecticut State University and received her Sixth Year Certificate and her master's degree from the University of Bridgeport and Fairfield University. Ann was a member of the Junior League of Fairfield and the past President of the League of St. Joseph's Manor. In addition to her teaching career, Ann enjoyed the many trips that she and her husband took to Bermuda, Nantucket and Ireland and also loved her time as a member of the Black Rock Yacht Club with her family and many friends.
She is survived by her daughters Shannon Evans, Maura Kelly and Meghan Wright, son in law John Kelly, sister-in-law Ana Shanley, and her cherished grandchildren Ber, Sam, Madeline and Molly, and a great grandson Beckham.
Funeral services will be held privately and announced at a later date.
Memorial donations can made to the Alzheimer's Association.
