Anna Jean Fuchs, 95, a lifelong area resident passed away peacefully at the Center for Hospice-Raclin House on Tuesday January 7, 2025.
Anna was born on July 31, 1929, in Lakeville, IN to the late George Wilber and Alice (Wise) Fuchs.
After graduation, from Lakeville High School, Anna worked for 41 years at Ball Band/ Uniroyal. She was a member and proud secretary for the 1197 retiree club. Anna was patron and devoted fan of the Notre Dame Ladies Athletics and she loved her Chicago "Cubbies". She was a member of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (South Bend Blue Soxs) and appeared in the 1992 movie "A League Of Their Own".
Anna is survived by her siblings; Linda Sorrentino, Henry Mook (Patti), nephew Bruce Walters (Tildi), nieces Tammy Mc Collough, Lisa Chapman (Larry), Jenny Robinson (Kurt), Tara Grable, Laura (Michael) Seylar, Daria (Charles) Borsellino, and Andrea Sorrentino, and her special loving friends Martina Carrillo (Jeff).
Anna was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gary Wayne Fuchs, her sisters, Phyllis Chapman, Patsy Grable, and Judy Bradley,
Visitation for Anna will be held from 10am-11am on Monday January 13, 2025, at the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave. South Bend. A funeral service will begin at 11am and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Anna's name can be made to the St. Joseph County DAV.
