Anna May Keller, 89, passed away peacefully at Claremont Nursing Home on Thursday June 6, 2024 in Carlisle. She was born on May 16, 1935 to the late Edgar Siptroth, Sr. and Anna May (Pietro) Siptroth in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Anna was a kind and loving woman who loved her family above all else. She showed her love through her cooking and always made sure everyone had a good meal when they visited. From an early age she was taught to cook from her mother who was born in Sicily. One of Anna's most famous dishes was her mother's meatball recipe.
She also loved to spend time with her friends at the Susquehanna Yacht Club in Wrightsville, PA. Anna and her late husband Paul were members of the Susquehanna Yacht Club since 1985 and spent many years there together making memories and friendships. Anna also loved to dance. Anna and Paul were known to cut a rug and impress.
Anna is survived by her daughter Theresa Ann Hummer and husband Robert E. Hummer, II of Carlisle; grandchildren Stephanie Ann Risser and husband Justin of Lititz and Kenneth Paul McPherson of Palmyra; brothers Edgar J. Siptroth Jr. and wife Sylvia L of Camp Hill and Michael R. Siptroth and wife Bernice of Maryland; great-granddaughters Kayla Ann Risser and Brianna Marie Risser; as well as several beloved extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul Keller; son Michael Stewart Keller; and sister Gloria Fisher.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and caregivers at Claremont Nursing Home and Amedisys Hospice for the care and support of Anna.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests that donations be made in memory of Anna to the Alzheimer's Association.
A Graveside Service will be held at Prospect Hill Cemetery on Tuesday June 25, 2024 at 11:00 A.M.
