Annette Lane, 67, of Dover, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, October 24, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Annette had been a resident of Dover for 58 years. In 1976 she graduated from Dover High School. Annette dedicated 38 years of her life to Allstate Insurance Company. Annette's hard work and commitment to her job were admired by her colleagues and made a positive impact on the lives of customers.
Annette was an enthusiastic traveler, exploring the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean Islands. She was also deeply committed to giving back to her community, volunteering at the Mount Zion Baptist Church Food Bank/Pantry in Dover. Known as the "Lane Family Planner of Events," Annette organized a variety of activities for her loved ones, from annual bus trips to the Greater Abyssinia Church in Newark, NJ, to festive Christmas concerts, exciting casino trips to Atlantic City, and memorable Disney vacations with all of her nieces and nephews. Her meticulous planning also ensured that the "Lane Family" reunions were always a cherished occasion.
Annette's family continues to remember her fondly. She is survived by her siblings, who all live in various places. Henry Cameron lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. Marietta Lane is in Dover, New Jersey. Richard Lane calls Roanoke, Virginia, his home. Lastly, Rodney Lane and his wife Dionne live in North Brunswick, New Jersey. Each of them carries memories of Annette in their hearts, and they support each other during this challenging time.
Annette was a special person in the lives of people. Her family and friends cared for her, and they shared happy moments together. Whether it was celebrating birthdays, holidays, or just spending time talking and laughing, Annette brought joy to everyone around her. Now that she is no longer with us, those who knew her feel a big emptiness in their hearts. They will always remember her kindness and the love she gave, making sure that her spirit lives on in their memories.
