Mrs. Annie “Mary” Brinson Jenkins, 81, entered into her Heavenly home Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at her residence.
May was born on April 20, 1944, in Jefferson County, Georgia, to the late Warren Brinson and the late Annie Mae Neely Brinson. She was raised in Jefferson County and accepted Christ at an early age, joining Thompson Springhill AME Church.
A faithful and loving homemaker, Mary was known for her warm smile and kind spirit. She made every house a home and touched many hearts through her generosity, humor, and grace.
Mary was also preceded in death by her son, Willie Jenkins Sr.; her grandson, Willie Isaac Jenkins Jr.; and her siblings, Deloris Davis, David Brinson, Harvey David Brinson and Warren Brinson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Eddie “Big Man” Brinson and Barbara “Jean” Jenkins of Matthews, and her stepdaughter, Tonya Harris of Augusta.
Her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply, include Ricardo Jenkins, Germekia Jenkins, Tomorris Jenkins, Latoya Jenkins, Chiquita Jenkins, Laquanna Jordan, Brandon Jenkins, Dondrick Jenkins, Kevin Brinson, Keith Brinson, Malik Brinson, and Malcolm Brinson. She also leaves behind two adopted grandchildren, Christopher Change and Keaton Holiday.
Mary is survived by her brother, Leotis “Oak Tree” Brinson, and her aunt, Geneva Thomas. She was blessed with a host of nieces and nephews, having a special bond with her devoted niece, Keyunta Brinson. Her legacy continues through her great- grandchildren who brought her endless joy and pride
Mary shared a special bond with two stepchildren, Rodriguas Brown of Wrens, and Laquanna Brown of Avera, both of whom were a meaningful part of her extended family.
She also leaves in loving memory her devoted longtime friend, Mr. Robert Irby, who remained by her side with care and love until her final days.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. Saturday afternoon, July 5, 2025. Funeral services to celebrate a life well-lived will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon, July 6, 2025, with Pastor Nokomis Jones officiating. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Keith Brinson, Kevin Brinson, Malik Brinson, Malcolm Brinson, Tyrone Gainous, Eddie Gordon and LaDerrick Hammond. Interment will follow in the Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The repass will be held at Thompson Springhill AME Church located at 7902 Campground Road, Matthews, GA 30818.
