Anthony J. Abato, age 65, passed away on March 27, 2025. He was born to Fredrick and AnneMarie (Kinnally) Abato on March 9, 1960, in Yonkers, NY.
He is survived by his two loving daughters, Julie Hoppe (Robert), and Victoria Liebson (Joseph). His legacy will carry on through his two cherished grandchildren, Angelina and Robert "RJ", as well as his sister Ellen (Robert Smith) and their daughters who adored him. Anthony loved his nieces just as much as his own children, having a special bond with each, Laura, Jessica, Amanda, and Stephanie.
Anthony's life story is one of a man who embraced every day with enthusiasm. His kindred spirit will be profoundly missed but his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Anthony's life was defined by the love he had for his family, his country, and the great outdoors. Anthony enlisted to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps in 1977; and was a proud Marine from that day forward.
His unwavering dedication continued beyond his military career as a civilian and became an electrician, landing himself a career at Altman Stage Lighting. His work life also led into his personal life, creating a life long friendship with the Altman family.
Anthony's passion for life also shined through in his hobbies. His love of for the Tennessee Titans had gotten a bit of flack over the years since they never made it to a Superbowl, but he was always happy to watch a game and have a cold beer. As a true outdoorsman at heart, Anthony loved opening day for any game season, especially fishing. No trout is safe after April 1st if he had that tackle box ready.
Anthony most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, around a barbeque with good food and spending precious time together. Many memories will live on through those who loved him, and carry out the endless jokes he has stored away to make someone laugh.
The family would like to thank everyone for their love, support and understanding during this difficult time. Anthony will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
