Obituary published on Legacy.com by A. G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. on Dec. 11, 2025.
Anthony P. Eppolito, a venerable educator and devoted family man passed away at the age of 76 on December 8, 2025, peacefully from a short illness, surrounded by his family.
Born on May 28, 1949, in Canastota, NY, he was the son of the late Peter and Florence (Giambrone) Eppolito.
Anthony fondly known by many as Tony, is survived by his beloved wife of over five decades, Patricia "Pat" (Deppoliti) Eppolito, whom he married in the summer of 1971.
The legacy of his kind and heartfelt teachings lives on through his children, Stefanie Batcher (Erik) and Mark Eppolito (Charity), and his adored grandchildren, Giana Batcher and Arabella and Davida Eppolito.
He leaves behind a brother, Joseph Eppolito (Virginia), a beloved brother-in-law, Richard Deppoliti (Julie) and sister-in-law, Eileen Deppoliti; along with a host of cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will continue to honor his legacy.
Anthonys lifelong commitment to education began at SUNY Oneonta where he received a BS in Elementary and Early Secondary Education. He was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi National Honor Society in Education. He continued his education at Stonybrook University in Long Island where he received a master's degree and then Syracuse University where he graduated with a certification in school administration.
His passion for knowledge led him to a rewarding career in teaching, where he inspired young minds in earth science and biology on Long Island. His dedication to students continued in Skaneateles, NY, where he taught both earth science and physical science. He went on to become assistant middle school principal in the Warwick Valley School District in Warwick, NY.
Anthony made a considerable impact as a principal at Knox Jr. High School in Johnstown, NY, serving for 20 years before retiring in 2003.
Beyond the school walls, Anthony was an active member of the school administrators association and worked as an associate executive director of catholic charities of Fulton and Montgomery counties in 2008, constantly striving for advancement of educational leadership.
Anthony loved golfing, wintering in Florida, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
Memorial donations in Anthony's memory may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave, Gloversville, NY.
