Anthony (Tony) Farris Jr, age 83, of Summerfield, Florida passed away on Monday, January 3rd, 2022. He was born on July 30, 1938, in Buffalo, New York and was the youngest of 7 children. After graduating from high school, Tony joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country. This involved 4 years Active Duty ('57-'61) and 2 years with the Reserves ('61-'63).
Tony met the love of his life, the late Delores C. Farris, and together they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. They spent much of their marriage in Aston, Pa where they raised a large family. Upon retiring they moved to Summerfield, Florida. Both Tony and Delores remained active members of Lions International where they served their communities at the local, national, and international levels.
Tony adored his family. He loved spending time with them and supporting their every interest. Tony particularly enjoyed watching his children participate in sporting events and being a part of his grandchildren and great grandchildren's many activities as well.
Tony was a mechanical engineer and was employed with The Boeing Company for 30 years before retiring at age 55. He had an amazing love for his work and all things aircrafts, especially helicopters. He was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Tony liked collecting coins and, during his younger years, he enjoyed playing pool, cards, bowling, and doing tricks with his yo-yo. He also enjoyed sharing family stories and beamed with pride as he witnessed his children pass down their Lebanese family traditions to their own children. He had fun keeping up with his stocks and even got a kick out of his grandchildren teaching him the latest technology. One of his favorite lessons and discoveries was Face Timing. He never missed the opportunity to call and tell his children and grandchildren just how much he loved them.
Tony was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delores Farris, his parents, Anthony, and Filomena (Anna) Farris, his son, Michael Farris, his sister, Sadie Mrad, and his brothers: Bill, Phil, Joe, and Dave Farris.
Tony is survived by his children: Wendy Mangold (Ray) of Dunnellon, Florida, ChristyAnn Morello (Anthony) of Newark, Delaware, ToniLynn Holt (Steve) of Summerfield, Florida, Bill Farris (Shelly) of Newark, Delaware, and Jeffrey Farris (Riza) of Summerfield, Florida. Tony will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren: Karri Ann, Krystal Lynn, AnnaElise, Raymond, AJ, Olivia, Sofia, Julia, AlyssaLynn, KC, and Liana, as well as his great-grandchildren: CJ, Kalina, Logan, and Kinlee. Tony also leaves behind his sister, Josephine Tartick of Buffalo, New York as well as several nieces and nephews.
Tony will be remembered for his love and leadership of his family, his kind heart, and his willingness to always lend a hand. He will be missed by many, especially his family.
No service or mass is immediately planned yet. The family will notify loved ones in the near future when services are scheduled.
