Anthony "Neal" George, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 14, 2024, in Greenville, North Carolina, at the age of 61. Born on March 14, 1963, to Cecial and Robena George Anthony lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by the love of his family.
A service will be held at a later date.
Anthony was married to his high school sweetheart, Mary Belle Murray George, in 1997, and together they raised their daughter Keianaka George, Stepson John Ward Jr., and enjoyed the blessing of one grandchild Jeremiah Ward; also surviving are his grand dog, Bengee; sisters: Hazel, Roseine, and Amelia George; aunts: Irma Johnson, Frances George, Dorothy Totten, Addie Curry, Rose George, and Evelyn George; uncle, Timmy George.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Belle Murray George; parents, Cecial and Robena George; brothers: Corey, Jerry, and Willie George; sister, Olinda George Nolen.
Anthony was a dedicated employee at The Sound Of Freedom Golf Course, where he found joy in his work and formed lasting friendships.
Outside of work, Anthony had a passion for going to the Flea Mall, watching NASCAR racing, playing his music and cheering on his favorite football team the 49ers. He also cherished spending time with his family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Anthony was a proud graduate of Havelock High School, Class of 1981, where he made lifelong connections and cultivated a love for learning. He will be remembered for his warm smile, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for those closest to him.
Although our hearts are heavy with the loss of Anthony, we take comfort in knowing that he is at peace and watching over us with love from above. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
