Obituary for Anthony Melson

Anthony Melson, of Kalamazoo, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 22, 2025. Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Anthony was proud to call the city his lifelong home.

Anthony was a man with a big personality-funny, sometimes a little mischievous, and always full of life. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially fishing, and he could often be found casting a line and enjoying the peace of the water. He also had a passion for motorsports and boxing, both as a fan and as a way of channeling his energy and love for competition.

Above all, Anthony treasured his family. He shared a loving marriage with his wife, Barbara, and was a devoted father to his son, Anthony Melson Jr. His grandchildren-Tyson, Tessa, and Lily-were the joy of his life, and he never missed an opportunity to make them laugh. Anthony also shared a special bond with his faithful dog, Patches, who rarely left his side.

Anthony will be deeply missed by his siblings: Terry (Carol) Melson of Kalamazoo, Carol Melson of Kalamazoo, David Melson of Alabama, Bobbie Melson of Kalamazoo, and Lori Melson of Las Vegas. His memory will live on in the countless stories, laughter, and love he leaves behind.

A service to celebrate Anthony's life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank all who have shared their love and support during this time.
