Antonio Lucious Mason, aged 64, passed away on June 30, 2024, in Pearland, Texas.
Born on September 11, 1959, in Kinston, North Carolina, he was the beloved son of
Doris and Lonnie Mason. Antonio had seven other siblings that preceded in death with
the exception of his brother, James Roland Mason, the sole surviving sibling.
"Tony" as he was affectionately called by family and friends was deeply rooted in his
faith from an early age and remained actively involved in his church throughout his life.
He was cherished for his warm spirit and the close bonds he nurtured within his family
and community.
In April 2020, Tony married Odessia Morel Mason, and the couple later moved to
Houston, Texas, where they played a significant role in the lives of their grandchildren,
Jordan and Jeffrey Smalls.
Tony served with distinction in the United States Army and the United States Coast
Guard retiring as a Master Diesel Mechanic after 10 years of active duty. Throughout his
military career, he was honored with several awards including the U.S. Army
Commendation Medal and the Army Good Conduct Medal, reflecting his dedication and
exemplary service.
An avid outdoorsman, Tony enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was a devoted dog lover. He
was also a proud member of the Delta Masonic Lodge, where he engaged in various
community-oriented activities.
