Archie Lavelle Amerson, age 86 went to his Heavenly Home on April 12 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 at the Pine Ridge Holiness Church. Rev. Phillip Jones and Rev. Marvin Griggs will officiate. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Archie was born in Lamar a son of the late Capers and Geneva Hutson Amerson. He was a member of the Pine Ridge Holiness Church and retired from Sonoco Products Company after 40 years of service and was a member of the Old Timers Club. He loved the Lord and going to churches, picking the Guitar and singing with his boys. He loved gardening and spending time with his family.

Surviving is one son, Tom (Jackie) Amerson, McBee; four grandchildren, Tony Amerson, McBee, Amanda (Ryland) Cole, McBee, Spencer (Katlyn) Amerson, Hartsville and Misti (Coree) Lane, Hartsville; eight great grandchildren, Sydney Amerson, Daylee Amerson, Ayla Cole, Kaylen Cole, Lexi Lane, Stanlee Lane, Weslee Lane and Phillip Amerson.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Harris Amerson; two sons, Robert Dale Amerson and Philip LeRoy Amerson; two grandchildren, Philip (Rocky) Amerson and Robbie Amerson; six brothers, L.C. Amerson, Richard Amerson, Wilbur Amerson, Keith Amerson, Marshall Amerson and Afton Amerson.
