A Private Family Service was held for Arleen Marcella (Brown) Julius, 94, of Sisseton, SD. Interment was at the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton, SD. Arleen left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior on June 11, 2025 at the Tekakwitha Living Center in Sisseton with family at her side. Arleen was born on January 24, 1931 to David and Edith Brown in Roberts County, SD. She attended Long Hollow Country School with her siblings. Later, at the age of 14 her parents moved to Seattle; she helped take care of the younger siblings while her parents worked in the shipyards. Upon returning to Sisseton, she worked at the Kittelson Hotel, which she really enjoyed. She was blessed to share 65 years of marriage with her husband Robert farming and ranching in Roberts County, together they raised five children: Alan, Scott, Robert, Nancy, and Steven. Arleen enjoyed her flowers, gardening, canning, making quilts for family and embroidery. Fresh baked bread, cinnamon rolls and cookies were always waiting when we came home from school. She would always take time to listen and did not hesitate to help someone in need. Any time spent with her sisters brought her so much joy; there was always a cup of coffee and laughter when they were together. Her faith in Christ and family were so important to her and it is what sustained her during these difficult final years. Arleen is survived by her children Alan (Debra) Julius, Scott (Kimberly) Julius, Robert Julius, Nancy (Patrick) Lewellen, and Steven (Tereasa) Julius; brother David Brown; Aunt Lula Greer; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Julius; her parents Edith and David Brown Sr.; two brothers Darrell and Ralph Brown; sisters Alice Doud, Elsie Deutsch, Ardella Kelly, and Shirley Krone; and daughter in-law Louann Julius.
