Arlene passed away Friday, May 23, 2025, at Ecumen Prairie Hill in St. Peter, MN. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont, MN, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Arlene (Campbell) Tonne was born August 8, 1942, in Fairmont, MN, the daughter of Harry and Doreen (Ahrens) Campbell. She attended school in Fairmont and graduated from Fairmont High School.
On February 2, 1963, Arlene was united in marriage to Jeffrey D. Tonne in Fairmont, MN. Together the couple made their home in Fairmont and were blessed with 58 years of marriage prior to Jeff's passing in 2021.
Arlene worked various retail jobs throughout her career but found great joy in serving others and often commented on, "the need to be busy". In her spare time, Arlene enjoyed working on embroidery and crocheting projects. She was competitive when it came to playing cards and always had a positive attitude. Arlene and Jeff loved adventure and traveling throughout the United States, especially the western states. In their younger years, they looked forward to hunting and shopping trips to northern Minnesota and an occasional stop at the casino.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Carol (Steven) Hatch of Apple Valley, MN and Sharon "Shari" (Mark) Eichten of Mesa, AZ; a nephew, Wade (Shannon) Hatch and their 3 sons; special friend, Sheri Stromberg; as well as many other extended family and friends.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Doreen Campbell; and her husband, Jeff Tonne.
