Arliene Mary Steckler

Arliene Mary (Wilzbacher) Steckler, 93, of Haubstadt, Indiana, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville.
Arliene was born on March 13, 1932 to the late Florian and Leoma (Adler) Wilzbacher. She was an active and faithful parishioner of St. James Catholic Church. She was a member of the Altar Society and served as the church's cook team leader for weddings and celebrations for several years. Arliene also served as the Regent of the Daughters of Isabella Haubstadt. She was a proud and continual supporter of the St. James Cougars. In her free time, Arliene enjoyed quilting, baking, and flower gardening. She also loved hosting family gatherings. Arliene will be deeply missed.
Arliene is survived by her sons, Keith Steckler (Dodie), Jeff Steckler (Jackie), and Tim Steckler, all of Haubstadt, IN; daughters, Pam Steckler and Carol Karmire (Conon), both of Evansville, IN; one granddaughter, Wendy Dollarhide; three grandsons, Terry, Jeremy, and Eric Steckler; four great-grandchildren; sister, Rita Morris; sister-in-law, Jan Wilzbacher; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Arliene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Steckler; parents; son, Richard Steckler; brothers, John, Joseph, Eugene, Austin, Gerald, and Robert Wilzbacher; and sister, Irma Rexing.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, November 7, 2025, at St. James Catholic Church, 12300 County Road 50, Haubstadt, IN 47639, with Fr. Kenneth Betz celebrating. Burial will follow at St. James Catholic Church Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 3:30 pm until 6:30 pm on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 E. Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711. A rosary service will be held at 6:30 pm. Friends may visit again from 9:00 am until mass time on Friday at the church.
