Vera Jean (Fellwock) Hodge, 97, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025 at Lutheran Community Home.
Vera was born in Evansville, Indiana on June 9, 1928 to the late Arthur and Martha (Meier) Fellwock. She worked as a secretary for Caze Elementary School for 24 years. Vera would make sure that any child who forgot their lunch money would not go unfed. She cared dearly for all her students and children. Vera was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed being outside tending to her flower garden, and playing bridge with her group of girls from high school. Vera loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Vera is survived by her daughter, Patti Graham (Mike) of McCordsville, IN; son, Robert "Bob" Hodge (Paula) of Evansville, IN; sister, Mildred Schillo of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Robin Bass (Nathan), Shannon Kraft (Doug), Erin Raben (Adam), Reid Sparks (Allison) and Nicholas Robison (Mackenzie); great grandchildren, Megan, Samuel, Alex, Avery, Trey, Emma, Deacon, Dylan, Reece, Jace, Vivian and Ellie; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Fred Hodge; brothers, Wilbur, Robert, Arthur, and Kenneth Fellwock; and her brother-in-law, Raymond Schillo.
A celebration of Vera's life will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor David Wiist officiating. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 10:00 am until service time on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children, 705 Riley Hospital Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46202.
