Kenneth Ray Phelps, known affectionately to friends and family as Kenny, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, at the age of 84 in his hometown of Evansville, Indiana. Born on August 1, 1941, to the late Dolphes and Mildred Phelps, Kenny's life was a testament to his enduring love for his family, his unwavering faith, and his dedication to his community.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Donna Phelps. Together, they built a beautiful family that would become Kenny's greatest pride. He was the cherished father of daughters Kelly Rae Phelps and Kendra Rae Parson, who is married to Michael. Kenny's joy was multiplied by his grandchildren, Ashley Furios (Jeff), Taylor Gansman, Russ Parson (Leah), Henry Parson, Elysia Wassmer (Nick), and Dallas Parson, who will all remember their grandpa- Pokey with deep affection.

Kenny was also a dear brother to Marsha Armstrong (Bob), Karen Payne (Steven), and Ron Wells (Joyce). His family circle included his beloved cat, Boots, who was a constant companion in his later years.

A proud graduate of Central High School's class of 1960, Kenny furthered his education in the electrical trade at the Old North High School. His professional journey as an electrician began in the 1950s, and he became the second-generation owner of Phelps Electric. Kenny's skilled hands and generous heart served the Evansville community for over five decades, leaving a legacy of light and warmth in countless homes and businesses.

Kenny's faith was the cornerstone of his life. A devout Christian, he found spiritual solace and joy at the First Southern Baptist Church in Evansville, Indiana. His love for the Lord was evident in all aspects of his life and served as an inspiration to those around him.

Aside from his professional and spiritual pursuits, Kenny had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid gardener who found peace in the rhythms of yard work and the beauty of nature. His love for birds was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of his admiration for the intricate wonders of the world. Kenny's sense of adventure was fulfilled through traveling with his wife, Donna, exploring new places, and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Kenny's life was one of purpose, love, and joy. His dedication to his family, his faith, and his community will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. As we bid farewell to Kenneth Ray Phelps, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His legacy will continue to shine brightly through the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.
