Aron Craig Toungate entered the world with a smile on his precious little face, born at St. David's Hospital in
Austin, Texas. His mother, Coleen, named him after her two favorite male singers: his uncle Craig Toungate, and Elvis Aron Presley.
Aron grew up surrounded by a loving extended family, and he cherished those relationships throughout his life. Family and friends were always at the center of his world, especially his sister Regina. He made time for everyone and kept his loved ones close with his caring and generous spirit. Aron graduated from McNeil high school in 1996. He enjoyed being in Comedy Sportz, after all, his initials are ACT. He participated in Haunted houses each year, yet another chance to perform for others. He was always very imaginative in creating his halloween costumes every year. He embraced all the holidays as another chance to be with family and friends. Aron was kind, gentle, always
positive, and extremely funny. He brought happiness and light to every place he went, bringing laughter and love throughout his life. Aron was a peacemaker in every sense of the word. As it is written in Matthew 5:9: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God."
Aron held many different jobs, including positions at Discovery Zone, Dell Computers, Red Lobster, Sprint, Apple, and Sonic Health Care. No matter where he worked, he used his God-given talents to solve problems-whether mechanical or personal-and he loved helping people, especially children.
Aron made good friends wherever he went. A creative soul, he was drawn to others who shared his love of fun and imagination. He was passionate about comedy, music, and science fiction, and was a devoted fan of both Star Wars and Star Trek. Aron was a gifted storyteller and a wonderful listener. He had a beautiful singing voice, and singing with his mom, sister Regina, and many others brought him great joy-whether at karaoke nights, on road trips, or gathered with uncle Craig and his guitar at family gettogethers. He supported his uncle Craig's singing performances, as well as other musicians and comedians. Aron loved great musicians. He once took his mother on her birthday to see Stevie Wonder, and he enjoyed going with family and friends to the New Orleans Jazz Fest.
Aron is survived by his mother, Janet Coleen Toungate Nelson; step-father Bruce Nelson; his beloved sister, Regina Gail Toungate and fiancee Phineas Chitewe; step brothers Joseph Nelson, Thomas Nelson and wife Katie; nephew Charles; nieces Sylvia and Emily; uncles and aunts: Jim Toungate, Larry Toungate and wife Virginia Young, Craig Toungate and wife Susan Lincoln, Todd Whitehead and wife Cindy, Mathew Whitehead and wife Liz, Michael Whitehead, Victoria Palmer and husband Doctor Bob, Robbi and James Francovich; and a host of beloved cousins. Aron also leaves behind countless friends-he never met a stranger. Many of his friends were like brothers and
sisters to him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Alton Pledger; grandparents, Lum and Lorene Toungate, Gene and Dot Whitehead, Marian and Charlie Nelson; aunts, Patsy Walker and Sachi Nelson; and uncle Chuck Nelson
