Mr. Arthur G. Gavin, a longtime resident of Medford and beloved husband of Pamella (Bent) Gavin, passed away at his home on Tuesday morning, March 25, 2025. He was 77 years old.
Born in Jamaica on March 16, 1948, he was the beloved son of the late Charles G. and Imogene E. (Mcwhinnie) Gavin. Mr. Gavin was a Construction worker for many years.
In his spare time, Arthur enjoyed entertaining his friends and family. A very outgoing person, he loved to tell jokes and stories and just having a good time. He will be dearly missed.
Besides his beloved wife; Pamella, Arthur is survived by his loving children; Angela Gavin of Jamaica, Royton Frankie" Gavin of England, Hueton "Clive" Gavin of Revere, Ersielee "Nickey" Gavin of Tampa FL, Maurice "Rohan" Gavin of Malden, Dennis Gavin of Jamaica and TerryAnn Gavin-Whitaker and her husband Edward Whitaker of Malden, siblings; Mable Barnes of Somerville, Edna Gavin of Woburn, Veta Gavin of Medford, June Roberts and her husband Herbert Roberts of Medford, Anthony Gavin and his wife Patricia Gavin of Jamaica, Sonia McDonald and her husband Nicholas McDonald of Medford. Arthur leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was also the loving father of the late Carlene Gavin. Arthur's legacy of kindness, integrity, and unwavering love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know him.
His funeral service will be celebrated in the West Medford Baptist Church, 59 Boston Avenue, Medford on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11 AM. Visitation/viewing will be held in the church, prior to the service, from 9 to 11 AM. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Arthur's memory may be made to the West Medford Baptist Church, 59 Boston Avenue, Medford, MA 02155.
