Arthur Eugene Moore, born on June 5, 1933, in Castle Hayne, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 92.

Arthur was a dedicated member of his community and a loving family man. He served honorably in the United States Air Force from June 17, 1953, until his discharge on June 15, 1957, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his service, he was recognized with the National Defense Award and the Good Conduct Medal.

Following his military service, Arthur embarked on a respected career as a devoted employee and Supervisor at Babcock & Wilcox and the Worsley Company Construction Division, both located in Wilmington, before retiring.

A devout man of faith, Arthur was a faithful member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church. His community involvement extended to numerous organizations, including Wilmington Lodge #319 A.F. & A.M., where he proudly received his 50-year Membership Award on July 1, 2025. He was also affiliated with the Wilmington Scottish Rite Masons, Sudan Shrine Center in New Bern, Sudan Drum and Bugle Corps in Wilmington, and the Wilmington Shrine Club, where he served as President in 1978. His dedication was especially evident in his role as Fish Fry Site Chairman for many years at the annual Wilmington Shrine Club Fish Fry. Additionally, he was a proud member of the American Legion Post #10.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Julius Moore and Agnes DeNicolas Moore, his beloved wife of 73 years, Barbara King Moore, and his siblings.

He is survived by his daughter, Collen Moore Murphrey, and son-in-law, Cary Murphrey, of Cary, North Carolina. He was the cherished grandfather of Hayleigh Murphrey Snotherly and Mariah Rose Murphrey and a beloved great-grandfather to Easton Alexander Snotherly and Luke Arthur Snotherly. He is also survived by his brother, Lloyd "PeeWee" Moore and sister in law Margaret Ann Wolfe Moore.

His family and many friends will remember Arthur for his kindness, work ethic and unwavering love for all.

A service to celebrate Arthur's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 612 S. College Road, Wilmington. The service will be led by his pastor, Rev. Sam Zumwalt, with music provided by his longtime friend and Director of Music, Bill Glisson, along with special musical vocals by his granddaughter, Hayleigh Murphrey Snotherly.

Prior to the service, the family will receive friends and loved ones at the church, beginning at 10 a.m. Following the service, interment will take place at Oleander Memorial Gardens, with Masonic Memorial services accorded by Wilmington Lodge #319 A.F. & A.M. The US AIr Force Funeral Honor Guard will present Taps and the US Flag Presentation at the gravesite.

Memorial donations in Arthur's name can be made to St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church or Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Arthur Eugene Moore will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of service, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
