Jaxie Julian Obituary
Jaxie Ellen Greene Julian, a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to love, resilience, and adventure, went to her Heavenly home on August 10, 2025, in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 85. Born on June 27, 1940, in Columbus, OH, Jaxie's journey through life was marked by depth, kindness, and unwavering faith.
Jaxie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend whose legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her. She met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Paul Julian, at Ohio University, and they married in August of 1960, embarking on a life together that spanned 57 beautiful years until his passing in 2018. Together they raised a loving family - a role she cherished with every fiber of her being.
Her dedication extended beyond her family, as Jaxie committed herself to uplifting the lives of others. Her tireless work on behalf of battered women through the Presbyterian Women's Group demonstrated her compassion and commitment to social justice. A transformative trip to Africa opened her heart further to the beauty and struggles of the world, enriching her spirit and fueling her passions.
Jaxie's love for learning was insatiable; she achieved a lifelong dream by earning her college degree from Piedmont College at the age of 55. Furthering her spiritual journey, she obtained a certificate in Spiritual Formation from the Isle of Iona in Scotland, deepening her connection with her faith and the world around her. She also loved to dance, attending classes at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio, where she not only refined her steps but also found joy, confidence, and community. After the passing of her beloved husband, dancing became more than a hobby-it was a source of solace and healing.
A woman of many interests, Jaxie traveled the globe, savoring each experience as a gift. She found serenity in walks on the beach, joy in playing the piano, and happiness in the company of her sisters, Betsy and Natalie. Above all, she loved life and Jesus, finding strength and solace in her beliefs.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Bob, her infant daughter Janet Lynne, and her brother-in-law Tom Stollenwerck, Jaxie's memory will be forever cherished by those she leaves behind. She is survived by her loving daughters Joan Julian, Jennifer Fleming (Paul), and Jackie McInturff (Lance); her adoring grandchildren Samantha Carberry (Fred), Cameron Crockett, Rachel Fleming, Mark Fleming, Jacob McInturff, and Garrett McInturff; and her sweet great-granddaughter Sicily Marie. Her sisters, Betsy Greene (Nelson) and Natalie Stollenwerck, will continue to celebrate her spirit and the bond they shared.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation, with a reception to follow. In honoring Jaxie's legacy, this time will focus not on sorrow, but on joy - celebrating a life well lived and deeply cherished.
