Arthur Weber, 89, of Dyersville, Iowa passed away Friday, May 16, 2025, at Hawkeye Care Center in Asbury, Iowa.
Visitation will be held from 9 - 11 a.m. on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa. Funeral services will commence at 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville, Iowa, with burial following in the church cemetery where military honors will be accorded. Rev. Gabriel Mensah will officiate.
Art was born on January 8, 1936, in Manchester, IA, son of Alphonse and Marcella (Langel) Weber. He served overseas in the US Army and was based in Germany. Art married Joan Funke on October 12, 1963. Together they farmed Northwest of Dyersville. After retiring from farming, he worked as a heavy equipment operator until he was 70 for Steger-Heiderscheit Construction. He was very proud in all that he did with farming and construction. Art was a wonderful Dad, Grandpa, Friend and Neighbor and will be dearly missed by all.
Survivors include his children: Brenda (Jay) Hefel of Farley, Larry (Miechelle) Weber of Iowa City and Robin Todus of River Forest, IL; grandchildren: Tyler (Fiancé Isabelle Cipriani) Hefel, Mackenzi (Clément Talabot) Hefel, Morgan Hefel, Benjamin (Fiancé Tara Hicks) Weber, Michael (Jessi) Weber and Ethan Todus; great-grandchildren: Charlie Joan Weber; siblings: Kay (Bill) Recker, Lois Bries, Jerry (Jan) Weber all of Dyersville, a sister-in-law Elaine Weber and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by Joan in 2015, an infant son, his parents, a stepfather, Edmund “Skinny” Steger, a son-in-law, Chris Todus, a brother, Joe Weber, parents-in-law, Gilbert and Mary Funke and a step-father-in-law, Verdon Gavin; in-laws: Marilyn (John) Hoefler and Ken Bries.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Arthur to Camp Courageous or Hospice of Dubuque.
