2 weeks ago, I sat at their kitchen table and talked to Aubrey for 20 or 30 min while waiting on Ryan. We talked about Rylynn and activity days and how much she enjoyed working with kids. Aubrey was always super easy to talk to, which is huge for me because I am not a very social person and have difficulty with small talk. With Aubrey, there was no difficulty. She made me feel instantly welcome in their home. She somehow made me feel totally at ease in conversation. I never felt anxiety around Aubrey. Not sure if it was her presence or her smile. It was apparent to me how devoted she was to Rylynn and Ryan. We almost always sit behind her at church, and she always smiled when we would greet each other. The image I have of her in my mind is with her huge smile. Her presence will be missed. She is loved.

This loss is so devastating. She was a person you could just talk to as if no time had passed since you last spoke. A quick Aubrey memory - she was a dear friend of my brother's, and she became a friend of mine when I roomed with my brother at Weber State. Aubrey had a picture of one of her single sisters on her wall, which, as a single 18-year old, I would occasionally steal and put on my wall to see if Aubrey would notice.
